CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS, PART 2

Military service runs deep in our family, on both sides. Both of my grandfathers served in World War 2, my Dad and Father-in-Law served in Vietnam, my husband served after 9/11. We both have countless uncles and cousins who served as well.

So when I saw this idea, I KNEW it was a tradition that we wanted to start with our boys. This stocking hangs right beside all of our family stockings and each year I love taking it out and talking to my boys about why we put it out and then taking time to pray for our military men and women.

A tradition to remind our boys that freedom is never truly free.
-
A tradition to teach our boys that bravery and sacrifice will always be honored here.
-
A tradition to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
-
A tradition to serve as a visual reminder that not all get to go home for Christmas, but they will always have a home here.

If this is a tradition you’d like to start, I have all of the materials linked here.
