LIFE LATELY [07.13.23]
Have you recovered from Prime Day? I’m sharing a little Life Lately. It’s a little of what we are doing, what we are eating, what we are wearing and a little bit of whatever else is on my mind all in one post.
We had another great week of summer!
We celebrated the Fourth of July with some sweet friends who live down by Cheyenne Mountain. We were able to see fireworks over the whole city - it was beautiful and the boys had a blast!
I finished redoing some furniture in our guest room. I painted the sides and trim and used wallpaper to recover the drawers and top.
We’ve been busy in the garden now that some of our tomato plants are starting to fruit and everything else is flowering! I can’t wait to eat the first green beans and tomatoes off the vine.
We picked up Mama J from the airport on Thursday. She will be here for about a month and we couldn’t be happier! It’s always a fun time when Mama J is around. Since Mama J is here, Sean and I were able to sneak off and have a date night. We went to dinner and then to see Sound of Freedom. If you haven’t seen this movie yet, I HIGHLY recommend it. It’s beautiful and heartbreaking and so eye-opening.
Over the weekend Korben helped me try out our new dehydrator by making Banana Chips and he is a BIG fan!
I’ve been trying out some new recipes and learning how to use the dehydrator that hubby got for my birthday. All of these recipes and how to’s will be in the August VIP Pass!
This has been my summer makeup routine - 2 products plus mascara! I wear the Charlotte Tillbury Primer everyday, even if I don’t use foundation because it minimizes pores and has an amazing SPF. The Laura Gellar Brighten-and-Balance Foundation has been a phenomenal find. It’s lightweight but gives great coverage and lasts all day long!
This week last year we were in Texas for a wedding. The boys were ring bearers in their fairy-godmother’s wedding. Korben ran down the aisle crying mama and removing his suspenders and Jack walked down the aisle like an amazing big boy! It all makes for a good memory.
While we were there, we also got to have some sweet family time with my brother and his family. Korben and my niece are only 6 weeks apart in age, so it’s super fun to get them together and try to control the chaos!
I told my mom the other day that every time Jack says that he wants to go play in his room, I feel like I’ve leveled up in a game 🤣. It’s truly a new era of parenting!
Here’s what’s in my cart this week!
I didn’t grab a whole lot during Prime Day, we weren’t really looking for any big ticket purchases. I did however restock my Babyganics Foaming Hand Sanitizer. I keep this in all the doors of the car and it’s super easy for the boys to grab a pump of when they get in.
Jack has checked this book out from the library every week since April. He absolutely LOVES it. They also have a Dinosaur and Space version, so I picked up all three while they were on sale to put away for Christmas.
We have a potty seat similar to this in our downstairs bathroom for Korben. It works great, he’s able to put it on the toilet independently and it’s not as bulky as the ladder stool kind we used to have.
I grabbed this dress last week and grabbed it in a second color during Prime Day. It’s super comfortable and has pockets!
