BATTLE OF THE MASCARAS
I’m so excited for this blog series! I’m going to be testing and reviewing mascaras all year for you and I’m starting with the viral mascara brand from Amazon.
One of the reasons I wanted to test this brand is because every one of their mascaras is UNDER $5. Their original mascara (the one that went viral) has over 200,000, 5-star reviews!
Today I’m comparing and reviewing the Essence | I Love Extreme Volume, Crazy Volume Mascara and the Essence | Volume Stylist 18 Hour Lash Extension with Fiber Mascara.
First up is the Essence | I Love Extreme Volume, Crazy Volume Mascara. When the mascara is called “crazy volume” you expect major lashes and you definitely get it with this mascara.
Pros:
The wand is silicone and the bristles are very short, which allows the bristles to get to every little lash.
It’s a nice, dark black mascara.
It was easy to remove at the end of the day.
There was no smudging or transfer throughout a full day of wear.
Cons:
To get my desired volume I had to apply multiple coats, but even with multiple coats, it didn’t look gunky.
Overall, this is a great everyday mascara. It wears really well, I had zero transfer or racoon eyes and it lived up to the name!
Since the first mascara was a “crazy volume” mascara, I decided to compare it to Essence | Volume Stylist 18 Hour Lash Extension with Fiber Mascara. Typically a fiber mascara is going to give your lashes additional volume and length, beyond what a regular mascara would.
Pros:
The wand is a fiber paddle brush that is typically used to create a dense lash.
It’s a nice, dark black mascara.
It was easy to remove at the end of the day.
The application of the fibers was fairly straight forward, the fibers are mixed into the mascara, so there is only 1 tube.
The fibers didn’t flake while applying.
The fibers weren’t noticeable, they blended in nicely with my natural lashes.
Cons:
The mascara came out of the tube a little thicker than I like. I had to wipe some off on the side of the tube.
I had to apply multiple coats, front and back, to achieve a longer lash look.
Overall, I was hoping to see alot more length with the addition of the fibers than I did.
For this battle, I definitely think the Essence | I Love Extreme Volume, Crazy Volume Mascara was the clear winner!
