LIFE LATELY [10.21.24]

I’m sharing a little Life Lately. It’s a little of what we are doing, what we are loving, what we are wearing and a little bit of whatever else is on my mind all in one post.

Happy OCTOBER!! It’s probably my favorite month of the year, the weather gets cooler, the leaves change colors. I love Fall!

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve blogged, I could say life has just been insanely busy (which it has) but to be honest, I think my mind needed rest. I was becoming burnt out and not enjoying blogging as much and just needed a minute, BUT I’m excited to be back with this amazing community we’ve created over the last 2 years!

On April 22 we closed one chapter in the suburbs and opened a new chapter in the country. We traded 4 bedrooms, a basement and a beautifully crafted backyard in a neighborhood near everything, for a beautiful 3 bedroom, single story home on 40 acres of land in what most would call the boons!

To be totally honest, I wasn’t 100% sure at first how I’d feel about downsizing. Isn’t the American dream to upgrade to a bigger and bigger home? Maybe. BUT what I can tell you is I LLOOVVEE our new home. Is it smaller? Yes. But I’m learning that smaller doesn’t mean worst or less than.

For us, smaller means that our boys are sharing a room and learning some VITAL life skills about sharing and responsibility. It also means that their relationship is so sweet to watch. I LOVE finishing up in the kitchen at night after they’ve gone to bed and listening to them talk and laugh and I think about what their relationship will look like in 10, 15 or 20 years.

Smaller means that I can clean my whole house, from top to bottom in a few hours instead of a whole day.

And the best thing, is that a smaller house, meant that we could afford more LAND!

I’ll share more on the projects we’ve been up to over the next few weeks but when THIS is your view, I mean gosh!! We are so in love with our new home and all of the possibilities it presents.

I LOVE looking back at our summer and seeing our boys OUTSIDE, from pretty much dawn to dusk. They’ve explored, dug holes, created a mud pit, learned lots of valuable skills and helped with lots of projects. They have been KIDS and I love it so much!

I have been living my best life in these bell bottom jeans! They are super comfortable and SO fun to wear. I’ve also really been loving this short sleeve maxi dress, especially on days that it’s cold in the morning and hot in the afternoon. It’s SUPER comfortable, has pockets and I plan to order a few more colors!

I’ll share lots more about Serenity Valley Farm very soon, but for now can we just appreciate this AMAZING rainbow after a summer rain? God is truly the most brilliant painter.

This month last year, we were enjoying being back in our routine of school! The boys love school so much and Mama THRIVES on a routine and schedule. Jack had his first school performance and Korben loved getting to watch big brother.

We got to go to the pumpkin patch as a family and enjoy beautiful Colorado in all her FALL glory!

I literally start pulling out the Christmas decorations while the boys are trick or treating!

I started putting my Christmas decorations up on November 1 the year that I was pregnant with Korben. I was due the week of Thanksgiving and the idea of having a newborn, a toddler and trying to put up decorations was too stressful. I loved having all the twinkling lights up for those last few weeks of pregnancy and since then I’ve done it every year.

A friend asked me yesterday if I ever get tired of looking at it between November and January….ABSOLUTELY NOT!
