LIFE LATELY [11.22.23]
I’m sharing a little Life Lately. It’s a little of what we are doing, what we are eating, what we are wearing and a little bit of whatever else is on my mind all in one post.
November has been full and sweet! We’ve enjoyed lots of movie nights, lit by the Christmas tree. Days at home with Korben (which are some of my favorite), dentist appointment for Jack and Thanksgiving parties for both boys!
Korben had a school project to disguise a turkey. He wanted it to be a puppy and kept calling it the puppy chicken. Melt my heart!
I got to volunteer in Jack’s classroom for his Thanksgiving party. We absolutely LOVE his teacher and it was so fun to be in the classroom and watch him interact with all of his friends. He is THRIVING and we couldn’t be more grateful.
On Saturday, I picked Mama J up from the airport and we got to surprise the boys! I’m putting the video below because it deserves a permanent spot here and is just the BEST!
I’ve been trying to eliminate red dye from our diets and so I started making homemade fruit snacks for the boys. They love them and love that they are shaped like legos! In the summer I started making our own pizza for our Friday Movie Night Tradition. I cook it on the grill and it is SO good!
My new favorite sweater is SO cozy but also chic. I love that I can dress it up with jeans or down with joggers. It’s also 35% off right now and comes in regular and plus sizes.
My FFAAVVEE slippers are also on sale (regularly $39.99 // SALE $19.99). These make GREAT Christmas gifts or just a treat for yourself. They are super comfortable and don’t make my feet sweat like bulkier closed toe slippers.
This week last year Korben had his Thanksgiving party at school and then we hit the road to Las Vegas to visit Sean’s parents for Thanksgiving. Sean and I got to have a date night. We walked around the Bellagio, which is one of my favorites at Christmas time because of their huge floral gingerbread village and then we ate dinner at Buddy V’s Italian Restaurant. Definitely recommend!
Grammy and Papa took all of us to the Excalibur Show and the boys LOVED it! Then we topped off the trip by celebrating Korben’s birthday with a donut breakfast, presents and ended it at Chuck E. Cheese!
I shared this in my stories yesterday and thought it deserved a place here too! This week is full of fun and family, traditions and togetherness. It is also a week of mass consumerism which can often lead to an “I NEED” mentality. Please, please, please don’t ever feel the need to play into that.
Our budget is tighter this year than it has been in the past. We are also traveling over the Christmas holiday, so we’ve made some decisions about the amount and size of gifts we are giving to the boys.
I will definitely be sharing sales over the next few days, but it is 100% ok if you can’t shop them right now. I’m trying to share things that are more practical than extravagent, things that I use in my home on a regular basis and brands that I’m partnered with.
Maybe the budget is tight. Maybe it’s just not something that you need. Your presence here in this little community we are building on the interwebs is ENOUGH. YOU are enough!
Here’s what’s in my cart this week!
I have been looking for some comfortable, inexpensive bras to wear around the house. I grabbed these the other day, they are super comfortable and help me feel secure at home. Not necessarily the kind of bra I would wear with a dress or out and about but I love them for lounging at home!
I’ve been on the hunt for new leggings and saw a girlfriend talking about these on IG so I grabbed them to try!
Since we are driving to Texas for Christmas, I grabbed a set of headphones for Korben. Jack has used the exact same one for years!
I grabbed these New Balance sneakers last week and holy batman - they are SO comfortable! I have plantar fasciitis and wore these all day with zero pain.
