TEACHING TUESDAY [11.21.23]

Welcome to Teaching Tuesday! If you are new here, I’m a former teacher, have a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and am now a homeschool mom. You can read more about that journey here.

Every Tuesday I’m going to share an at home learning idea for preschool and elementary age kids, new curriculum resources and a freebie or two!

I’ve shared that my boys have always loved being in the kitchen with me. Sometimes they want to help me cook, but alot of time they just want to hang out or be near me. I love having them in the kitchen, but sometimes their little hands need something to keep them occupied.

That’s when I started using stickers and a notebook. Stickers and a note book can be used for SO MANY LEARNING activities (Letter Tracing With Stickers, Letter Identification With Stickers).

Another way to use stickers is for color identification. I really like using smiley face stickers or stars for this type of activity because there are alot of stickers on one sheet of paper.

Draw circles or squares in the notebook. Make sure to use the colors of the stickers. Then, the child will simply match the stickers with the correct color. While this seems like a really simple task, it is using ALOT of brain and body muscles. Here’s just a few:

  • One to One Correspondence

  • Bilateral Hand Movement

  • Fine Motor Skills

  • Color Recognition and Matching

Here are new resources that I’ve been working on this month!

These 4 units are also available in my VIP PASS (NOVEMBER 2023), a low cost monthly subscription for new curriculum resources (or save 25% on a yearly subscription with code VIP25). Once you are a member you have access to all previous VIP PASS curriculum downloads as well, forever!

The units above are also available through my Teachers Pay Teachers store by clicking the photos.
