LIFE LATELY [08.02.23]
I’m sharing a little Life Lately. It’s a little of what we are doing, what we are eating, what we are wearing and a little bit of whatever else is on my mind all in one post.
Two weeks ago tomorrow, I had a full hysterectomy so the last two weeks have been alot of sitting, ice packs, heating pads and binge watching. My mom (Mama J) has been at our house since the beginning of July and was the biggest blessing taking care of the boys while hubs took care of me.
The boys have just been soaking in every moment of summer that’s left and our garden is finally producing some veggies! Sitting still is definitely not easy for me, but I’m so grateful for our community who has brought food and loved on us during this season!
Our amazing community has been bringing meals to us for the past few weeks so I wouldn’t have to worry about cooking but here are two recipes that are going to be in the August VIP Pass!
I’ve been living in this dress from Amazon. I was told to plan on not wearing pants or shorts for a few weeks after my surgery because I wouldn’t want anything constricting. I’m so glad I listened to that advice! I ordered this dress in 3 different colors and have seriously LOVED it. It also has pockets - so bonus!
This week last year Jack lost his very first tooth and got a visit from the tooth fairy! We visited the county fair and a few last park days before school started!
This is 100% how I cook. My husband is a very black and white personality and it drives him crazy when I don’t measure seasonings while I’m cooking. Anyone else?

Here’s what’s in my cart this week!
My cart is full of back to school items this week!
Both boys take their lunches most days so these 4 items are things I restock every year. Bentgo boxes make packing lunch SO much easier for me and teachers always tell me how helpful the boxes are because they don’t have to open a zillion packages.
For my preschooler, I use these icepacks in his lunch box and they seem to keep everything cool till lunch time.
For my (almost) second grader, I found this lunchbox that actually has ice packs built into it. His lunch is a little later in the day, so it keeps things nice a cold for him. It is a little heavier than a regular lunchbox, which is why he uses it and not my preschooler.
I always LOVED getting notes in my lunch from my mom when I was in school. I found these joke cards last year and my big boy loved them so I restocked on them this week!
