LIFE LATELY [10.11.23]
I’m sharing a little Life Lately. It’s a little of what we are doing, what we are eating, what we are wearing and a little bit of whatever else is on my mind all in one post.
Korben had picture day last week and of course got a big gash on his forehead the day before! Oh well, makes for good memories. I love his imagination, he was playing in the backyard when they found a tumbleweed that had blown in. He said, “Look Mama, I got a mmm-brella!” I love his creativity!
Jack was in a program at school on Friday and did such a great job! Their class performed a fable for the whole school. Korben was so excited to watch “big brother” and sat on the bleachers clapping the whole time.
This weekend hubs took the boys to the theatre to see the new Paw Patrol movie. It was Korben’s first movie at the “popcorn theatre” and he loved every minute of it.
We’ve devoured both of these meals this week…..Bacon Ranch Chicken Sliders and Sausage Tortellini Soup! Both of these recipes are in my October VIP Pass along with my monthly meal rotation!
I’ve been living in these jeans from Walmart! Super comfortable, under $20 and come in multiple colors. Now that the weather is getting a little cooler, Korben has been loving his new graphic tees from Carter’s. They are on doorbuster right now for $6!!
This week last year, Jack got to have his first dress up western day at school and got his first Lego sets that he saved his own money for. With Korben we were deep in the throughs of potty training, which I don’t wish on my worst enemy!
I have felt the weight of this recently. My Mom’s Group is reading through a book called Raising Amazing and last week we talked about the things, both positive and negative, that we bring into our family from the way we grew up. I was thinking about this idea and probably 75% of the way I mother my children, is based on the way I was mothered. Thankfully, my mom is still around, but this idea also made me think about my grandmother, who passed away in 2017. The way she raised my mom and her sisters, the things she would say to us, the traditions and memories have all outlived her, but they influence my daily life.
It can be a heavy weight to carry, but also what an opportunity I have to influence the lives of my boys, long after I’m gone.
Here’s what’s in my cart this week!
I had a few indoor plants that really needed to be repotted, so I grabbed this 2-pack of planters. They are so beautiful and I love that they have the bottom watering option.
I was running low on one of my favorite primers by NYX, so grabbed a refill! I love this primer and wear it even on days that I don’t wear any makeup. It has marshmellow root in it, which is amazing for naturally reducing pore size!
I’m helping host a baby shower for our precious friend who has been walking through the adoption process for the last year and finally brought her sweet baby home! We are doing a balloon arch and this electric air balloon pump is a MUST HAVE if you ever plan to do a balloon arch of any kind. I’ve borrowed a friend’s pump a few times and just decided it was finally time to grab my own!
I saw this light up pop game on TikTok and thought it would be a great stocking stuffer for the boys for Christmas! I’ve already played it a few times and it is so fun.
