TALK ABOUT IT TUESDAY {AUGUST 2022}

On the last Tuesday of every month I do Talk About It Tuesday. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.

I started implementing a new way of meal planning this month and it has made life so much easier, especially with getting back into the school routine. My families favorite has been the Grilled Teriyaki Chicken Kabobs!

I decided for this question that I’d take a trip down memory lane and look back at the same month from the year before.
I love this question every month because I get to look back at my babies!

Last August was all about starting Kindergarten! School started the first week of august last year and I strategically planned VERY LITTLE for the month. Starting Kindergarten is such an accomplishment to 5 year olds. Their bodies are getting used to new routines and their brains are working in ways they haven’t worked before. As exciting as it is, it can also be overstimulating and exhausting because at the end of the day, they are only 5!

Korben, on the other hand, settled into his routine of having Mama to himself most of the day, very very easily. I’m so grateful to have this one on one time at home with Korben for the next few years, I know it will go by in a flash!

I have been loving watching their little relationship grow. Don’t get me wrong, they sound like a stampede of elephants and irritate each other like only siblings can, but Korben lives for Jack to come home from school each day and is glued to his hip till bedtime. Korben thinks Jack literally hung the moon and I love it!

August has been all about Jack! He lost his first tooth and then 2 days later lost his second, he is a very big fan of the tooth fairy. Then my big boy started First Grade and has just been loving it!

I sat here and stared at the screen for a good ten minutes trying to think of something. The only thing I could think of is our dwindling days enjoying our backyard before the inevitable cold starts to creep in. We have just lived in the backyard this summer. One of my very favorite things is being able to open the window in the kitchen and listen to the boys play outside together while I’m cooking dinner. It just makes my Mama heart so happy!

Today I’ve been working on our September Meal plan, which I’ll be sharing with you on Thursday!

All. Things. FALL!

Virgin River - I finished the newest season in about 2 days. SO good and oh my heavens the cliffhanger!

Schitt’s Creek - I feel like we are in the abyss of nothing new on tv, so we are rewatching Schitt’s Creek and it is just as funny the second (or third) time around!

House of the Dragon - I was hooked on Game of Thrones, so I’ve been looking forward to this, so far it has a very similar feel but a whole new family of drama!

The soundtrack of my life….kid’s tv shows. Jack has been obsessed with Scooby Doo recently and that song just NEVER gets out of your head!

This t-shirt dress from Walmart is SO comfortable AND I just saw that it was marked down to $7 in Walmart’s Labor Day Rollbacks!

We have a LONG weekend for Labor Day. Jack has Friday and Monday off, so we are going to enjoy a playdate with some friends, soak up the sunshine and enjoy some family time!

Again, all things fall! I’m not ready to say goodbye to the boys being able to play outside just yet, but I would be happy to welcome a few crisp mornings and a delicious pumpkin spice beverage.
