WINTER DECOR TOUR
I always decorate BIG for Christmas. I also decorate for Christmas at the beginning of November. So by the time January comes, I am usually pretty ready to pack the red and green away and simplify the decor.
Even though the Christmas decorations come down, I like to leave my lighted greenery up and just switch up the decor on it. Living in Colorado, we get most of our heavy snow in January-March. The lighted greenery still gives off those cozy winter feelings that make you want to cuddle up on the couch with a hot beverage and good rom-com!
For the greenery, I usually have red berry picks in it for Christmas, so I switch those out for some white berry picks with pinecones and weave in some black and white buffalo plaid ribbon. I do this for the staircase and over my china cabinet.
Every year at Christmas for as long as I can remember, my mom would display all of our family Christmas photos all over her home. I’ve done that in my own home since Jack’s first Christmas. But last year I thought, why can’t I do that with every season?!?! Living in Colorado, we don’t have a shortage of pictures in the snow. I love seeing how my babies grow each year and I love that the boys like to look at the pictures and talk about each experience.
For the kitchen, I like to keep it simple, while still bringing a few touches of winter in. I’ve had this lantern for a few years and love how easy it is to pop some white, silver and blue ornaments in. Such an easy way to transform a piece to use each season.
This centerpiece sits on top of our credenza and it’s one of my favorite pieces in the house. What I love about it is that I’ve created it so that each season, the florals can be switched out and stored for the next year. I’ve linked a video of how I made this one below.
Last up is my trees on the front porch. If you haven’t figured it out by now, I love decor that I can repurpose each season and my sweet little lit tree duo is one of my favorites. Even in the summer, I love driving up to the house after dark and seeing them all lit up. I just switch out the ribbons at the top and use different garlands throughout the year.
I hope you enjoyed my Winter home tour! I’d love for you to share pictures of your own winter decor in the comments.
