HALLOWEEN REWIND

Since Halloween is tomorrow, I thought it’d be fun to do a rewind of the boy’s Halloween costumes through the years!

2016 - This was Jack’s first Halloween and our first year living in Colorado. He was only 7 months old, so we didn’t trick of treat, plus our neighborhood was still being built and everything was under construction, but I loved him in all of the pumpkins!

2017 - Jack was a dinosaur! This was his first experience actually trick or treating. He toddled his way to a couple of the houses and then was ready to dig into the candy.

2018 - Jack was obsessed with all things trains and Chuggington. This was the first year that he really caught on to Halloween and trick or treating. It had snowed about 6 inches the night before and was FREEZING. Daddy took him down the street while I stayed home handing out candy!

2019 - Jack’s last year trick or treating solo! I was 700 months pregnant with Korben this Halloween (I mean really it was 8 months pregnant, but all I could do was waddle, so it felt like 700 months).

2020 - Korben was WAY to big to do this pumpkin picture, but I had big Mom dreams about making it happen, the pumpkin had started molding at the top but I was determined. As you can see, I’m mother of the year and Korben was THRILLED to be in the pumpkin 😂.

Korben was 11 months old for this Halloween, so it was really fun to see him toddle around! Jack wanted to be an astronaut, so Korben was his alien sidekick. I love a matching costume situation and so a new tradition was born!

2021 - This is the only picture of Halloween 2021 that I have. I went into the hospital on October 15 with covid and was admitted due to extremely low oxygen. Eight days later I came home on a portable oxygen machine. My mom came into town to help with the boys (thank you Jesus for moms!) and had to go to Walmart at the last minute to get costumes. I had never been so happy to see Iron Man and Captain America in my life!

2022 - This was the first year Korben really got the hang of trick or treating. Jack has always loved dinosaurs and had become obsessed with Jurassic Park. He has still never actually seen the real movie, but he watched the Lego Jurassic World show with hubby and all he wanted to be was “Owen Chris Pratt.” That’s still how he refers to him and I love it so much! Jack’s costume was simple, but it might be one of his favorites because he still wears the vest around on “adventures.” Korben was his dinosaur!

2023 - This year the boys are Mario and Luigi. I know that my days of them wearing matching costumes are numbered, so for now I will soak it up! We went to our church’s Trunk or Treat on Friday with my Mom’s Group. We had the BEST time meeting there beforehand, tailgating for dinner and then going through with all of the kids. There were about 25 kids between us all, it was total chaos and SO much fun!
