LIFE LATELY [11.08.23]

I’m sharing a little Life Lately. It’s a little of what we are doing, what we are eating, what we are wearing and a little bit of whatever else is on my mind all in one post.

October, November and December are always packed full of activities and I can honestly say that I’m enjoying them SO much with big-little kids! The boys have such fun personalities and are really just embracing every bit of the holidays, which has been SO FUN 😍.

Our farmer’s market ended their season at the end of October, so I grabbed two twenty pound boxes of apples and have been making ALLLLLLLL the apple things….applesauce, apple chips, apple jam, apple pie filling.

The last week of October was full of fun Halloween activities. Both of the boys got to carve pumpkins with daddy. Our church had a Trunk or Treat Festival where our Mom’s Group met up beforehand, tailgated with Chick-Fil-A for dinner and then went through the line all together. Total chaos and SO much fun! Then hubby and the boys trick or treated around our neighborhood on Halloween night while I handed out candy and started decorating for Christmas!

Yes, I decorate on November 1 every year! This actually started the year I was pregnant with Korben. My induction was scheduled for November 25 and I knew that I would not want to be decorating for Christmas with a newborn. So that year I decorated on November 1 and have done it ever since. I love the coziness it brings to our house and I get to enjoy it a little bit longer.

We also had our first snow last week, started our Thankful Pumpkin that we add to each night at dinner and Jack’s Cub Scout Pack did a service project last weekend, cleaning the headstones at the Pike’s Peak National Cemetery ahead of Veteran’s Day.

Phew, I feel like I just ran a marathon detailing all of that…..but I LOVE this season of life we are in and experiencing all of the things with my boys!

Give me all of the SOUP!! We’ve had some spurts of cold and I’ve been loving every minute of soup season. This White Bean Chicken Soup was DELICIOUS and the boys devoured this Brown Sugar Bacon Wrapped Chicken! Both of these are included in my monthly meal rotation in the November VIP PASS!

Hello, my name is Laura and I am officially entering cozy season. Cozy season includes leggings, joggers, oversized sweatshirts and slippers! I’ve linked everything I’m wearing in both of the links below:

This week last year, the boys were Owen from Jurassic Park and his pet dinosaur for Halloween, I decorated for Christmas and we transitioned Korben from his crib to a big boy bed!

Community. As women community is vital. I’m blessed to have an amazing community of women around me who are changing the narratives for their families, establishing strong roots and breaking generational cycles.

Here’s what’s in my cart this week!

I was getting low on my shampoo, so I did a quick restock! I love Kevin Murphy brand products and when my hair started falling out after having covid, this shampoo revived it!

I’ve seen this shoe protector spray on IG and TikTok a zillion times, so I’m finally pulling the trigger! I’m going to try it out on my Uggs!

I added cleaning the toilet to Jack’s chore list for his bathroom and this refillable toilet brush works AMAZING! Now he can do a little swipe around the toilet everyday and it stays clean.

Speaking of chores, we’ve used various types of chore charts over the years, but I recently grabbed this one and LOVE it. Both of the boys can use it, they love ticking off when they completed a task and it comes with extra cards if you want to change up their chores later.
