TALK ABOUT IT TUESDAY {MAY 2022}

On the last Tuesday of every month I do Talk About It Tuesday. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.

As the weather warms up, pretty much everything we eat comes from the grill! I really love zucchini and squash spears with a little BBQ seasoning sprinkled on top and who can go wrong with honey lime shrimp?!

I decided for this question that I’d take a trip down memory lane and look back at the same month from the year before.
In May 2021 we started to enjoy the sunshine outside anytime it was warm. Sean started building the boy’s playset, which unofficially 33,546 nuts, bolts and screws. I also got to celebrate Muffins with Mom at Jack’s preschool and our end of year ladies tea with our MOPS group. Korben started figuring out that he could splash his brother in the water table and Sean finished the AMAZING playground for our kids which is truly the gift that keeps on giving! Jack got to take his first trip to the library and get his own library card, we celebrated Sean’s birthday and finished off the month by picking out a tree for our backyard.

ANY day that is bright and sunny!
Seasonal depression is a very real thing, especially in areas where snow and winter just seem to linger on and on and on. I find myself struggling with it more in April and May than I do in January and February. So, any and all days that bring out the sunshine, we take full advantage of!

I snapped this picture of the boys playing outside together last week. It was just one of those moments where I stopped and was so grateful for the sunshine and for their sweet little bond.

It’s May so we are in the throws of all of the celebrations! This month we’ve celebrated Mother’s Day, Kindergarten Graduation and Sean’s 40th Birthday. This is the last week of school for both boys, which is packed full of crazy hair days, Field Day, and end of year parties!

Fires. I’m still dreading the fire danger that the summer tends to bring. About 2 weeks ago, Jack’s school had to be evacuated because of a wildfire in a neighborhood down the street. Thankfully this weekend we got TWELVE inches of snow (yes, in May!). This has brought some much needed relief for the time being, but we definitely need more rain over the next few months.

May has been SO busy, I’m honestly looking forward to a little down time. I’ve got lots of fun things coming to the blog in June, including Father’s Day ideas, summer beauty and summer activities for kids!

I’m excited for a few lazy days filled with playing outside till dark, grilling and enjoying family time. May has been wonderful but it has also been crazy busy, so a little down time is very welcome!

This Is Us. I’m not emotionally prepared for the finale tonight, but I’m sure my husband is ready for me to stop crying every Tuesday night!

Korben is obsessed with Sing 2. He walks around saying “Moon” and “Calloway” all day long (if you know, you know). The music is pretty good so I don’t mind listening to it in the background on repeat.

Pink sandals, black sandals, red sandals…literally ALL the sandals!

We have a few more graduation parties to hit up this weekend and then we are just going to enjoy being outside and having no plans!

Jack is one of the most outgoing, extroverted children I’ve ever met, so when planning for summer I was a little nervous about how I’d keep him busy. Thankfully our city has LOTS of day camp options, so he and I sat down and picked out a few familiar camps and a few new camps, meaning he’ll get to try some activities he’s never done before. I’m super excited that one of the camps is for both boys and they are excited to go together!
