WHATEVER WEDNESDAY {02/15/23}

You made it to Wednesday, my friend! Today is Whatever Wednesday. It’s a little of what we are doing, what we are eating, what we are wearing and a little bit of whatever else is on my mind all in one post.

Apple Cobbler is always my go to when I need a dessert for an event or if I’m taking a meal to a family. A friend in our Life Group just had a baby, so I took dinner and an apple cobbler to them over the weekend. I also love an easy one skillet or one pan meal and my boys gobble up this Cheesy Sausage Pasta.

I changed out of my joggers into some jeans for a couple of events last week! If you don’t have a pair of Judy Blue jeans, you are missing out. They are so comfortable and have a good amount of stretch without sagging.

I love the big chunky sweater trend and this bright one is perfect for right now by itself and will make a great layering piece with a dress in the spring.

This ruffled hem top is super cozy but not heavy and it pairs perfectly with joggers, leggings and jeans! Mine is sold out but I’m linking some similar options below.

Last year during this week enjoyed some sunshine after being stuck inside for a few days of snow storms. I love seeing snow on top of Pikes Peak. We ventured over to the new In and Out Burger after making Valentine deliveries and the boys loved it!

When I saw this it made me laugh. My body is done having babies after 2 pretty difficult pregnancies and recoveries BUT my sister-in-law is pregnant and I can’t wait to meet my newest niece!!

Not only that, 2 mamas in our Mom’s Group are getting ready for babies - 1 pregnant and 1 adopting. AND in our Life Group there are at least 4 pregnant mamas and 1 that just had the sweetest baby boy.

I grew up in the South, where you take a meal to a family after they have a baby. It seems that it’s a little different in a post-covid world, but you can still love on and care for new moms well during those early, sleepless, newborn days.

Here’s a few ideas on how you can love on them:

  • Set up a meal train. I love using the websites mealtrain.com and signupgenius.com to coordinate these.

  • Take the family a meal. Be sure to use containers that don’t have to be returned and/or can be thrown away. I’ll link some of my favorite below. Don’t feel pressure to go inside, just drop it off on the porch and let them know their food has been delivered!

  • Send a DoorDash, GrubHub or UberEats gift card.

  • Use your local grocery delivery service to have groceries delivered.

  • Offer to pick up and deliver their grocery order.

  • Offer to run errands for her.

The following ideas are for New Mom Friends that you have a closer relationship with:

  • Offer to watch the baby in their home while the new mom takes a nap or showers uninterrupted.

  • Clean to clean for them - not everyone will take you up on this, but if they do it can be a huge help. Even little things like unloading/loading the dishwasher, wiping down surfaces, folding laundry, or vacuuming can be a huge help.

  • If they have older children, offer to pick them up and watch them for a morning or afternoon.

  • Go on a walk together to get some fresh air and get out of the house.

Here’s what’s in my Target cart this week!
I’m loving all of the new dresses they’ve put out for early spring. That t-shirt dress with the side ruching is SO cute and would be perfect for the beach this summer.

I’ve been waiting for the Maddison sneakers to come back in stock in my size and they just did!
