WHATEVER WEDNESDAY {03/15/23}

You made it to Wednesday, my friend! Today is Whatever Wednesday. It’s a little of what we are doing, what we are eating, what we are wearing and a little bit of whatever else is on my mind all in one post.

I shared this Broccoli Salad recipe earlier this week and then made it again for our bible study. It’s always a big hit and it feeds alot of people!

We had a mom’s night out last week and decided what we really wanted was to wear sweats and do a potluck. My Texas Queso was immediately requested by my friend who is pregnant and who am I to tell her no, haha!

I’m obsessed with this side-ruched t-shirt dress from Target. I ordered another color because I know it’s going to be on repeat all spring and summer!

Since we are in this wonky Winter one day, Spring the next season at the moment, I’ve kept out my favorite Zella Restore Soft Lite Joggers. They are seriously so comfortable, lightweight and feel like butter!

Last year during this week Jack turned 6 years old! He was in Kindergarten and was so excited to have his special birthday day at school and then we had a snow storm and school was cancelled. We made the best of it and gave Jack a “yes” day the next day and he loved getting to choose all the things we got to do!

Anyone else feel this? The job of raising little humans is just hard. At our mom’s group a few weeks ago, the speaker said something that really resonated with me. She was sharing about a time in her parenting journey when both of her children were in their toddler years and on a particularly hard day of mom-ming, someone tried encouraging her by reminding her that, “the days are long, but the years are short.”

I loved her response to that age old saying. She said that she sat their thinking about that “encouragement” for a bit and on this side of mothering she wished she could go back and say, “Yes, of course that’s true. BUT sometimes, the days are just long and hard and it’s ok to acknowledge that.”

That really resonated with me. It’s ok to feel the feelings, in the moment, that some days are just hard. So while I don’t have any amazing words of wisdom for you. I just want to encourage you that if you are having a difficult mom-ming day or season, it’s ok to acknowledge that. It doesn’t make you any less of an amazing Mom!

Here’s what’s in my Amazon cart this week!
I’ve been eyeing this dress for weeks and finally added it to my cart.

I love the NYX Marshmellow Smoothing Primer and needed a refill. This is one of my favorite products to wear, especially on days that I don’t wear any other makeup. It contains marshmallow root, which is a great natural filler and smoother!

Have you seen this mop and mop bucket on TikTok or Instagram? I feel like it’s the only thing I see! I finally saw that it was 20% off and am going to give it a try.

We did this butterfly growing kit a few years ago with Jack and he loved it. Korben is the same age that Jack was when we did it, so I thought it would be a great time to try it again! I’m also going to have Jack illustrate and write about the process each day for homeschool science.
