APPLE PEEL CANDY
When I was making applesauce in the Fall, I accumulated ALOT of apple peels. I used about half to make Apple Peel Jelly, but I used the other half to make Apple Peel Candy!
This is a super delicious, sweet snack that your whole family can enjoy. The great part about it is you donβt have to have any special equipment. I used my food dehydrator, but you can use your oven to do the exact same thing.

Apple Corer (not required, but helpful)
STEP ONE:
Gather your apple peels. If you arenβt processing a large amount of apples, keep a ziploc bag in your freezer to collect apple peels as you eat apples. My kids go through about 5 pounds of apples a week, so they accumulate pretty quickly.
STEP TWO:
Cut your apple peels into small strips. They do not have to be exactly the same. I threw them all into a bowl and then used scissors to cut through them multiple times till they were in small pieces.
STEP THREE:
In a large bowl, combine 1-2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice, 1 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of cinnamon. I donβt measure this exactly, so these are approximate measurements. I typically do a 4:1 ratio of sugar to cinnamon. You want the pieces to be well coated, so if you need to add more, do so!
STEP FOUR:
On a baking sheet OR dehydrator sheets, spread the apple pieces into a single layer. If you are using a baking sheet, I recommend lining it with parchment paper.
DEHYDRATOR: Dehydrate at 150 degrees for 10-12 hours.
OVEN: If using an oven, set the temperature to the lowest that it will go. Mine goes to 170 degrees. Let dehydrate for 4-5 hours, check and continue to cook and check for additional 2-3 hours. The candy should be crunchy, not chewy.
I love snacking on these throughout the day and my kids love when I put them in their school lunch!

Iβll leave that to the professionals π.
