June 19, 2020 will forever be the day that my sweet, 4 year old first born had open heart surgery. Today is a day that I will forever and ever be grateful for the gift of life.

Memorial Day is often the unofficial kickoff for summer. I love that it’s a long weekend that brings people together for barbecues and parades, but let us never, ever forget who we honor on Memorial Day. For my family and thousands of other families, Memorial Day will always have the sting of grief.

Never in my entire life did I think I would voluntarily purchase caterpillars to watch them grow into butterflies for my children, but alas I did.

Taking a long road trip with small children can be daunting. However, if you plan and prep well it can be a really enjoyable experience.

Usually during Spring Break my mom flies out to Colorado because her Spring Break (she’s a teacher in Texas) is always different than ours. However, since we are homeschooling this year, we decided to pack up and road trip to Texas to the family farm for the week!

Today my firstborn turns SEVEN! Jack is the biggest hype-man. In his world, everything is fun and exciting and an adventure. I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Yesterday I shared about our family time in Texas, which was absolutely wonderful! However, the reason we even went to Texas was for a wedding to a very, very special family friend.

Last week we drove to Texas because my boys were going to be the ring bearers in a wedding. I’ll share more on that tomorrow! Today I’m sharing the first part of our trip, which included lots of driving and family time.
